i've been away for a while, mainly becuase i didn't have any desire to post anything. i go in spurts, you know? sometimes i feel like it, sometimes i don't.
louis was here this week, staying with jodi and i for a few days, chillin' on his second vacation of late. and he's using blogger, which made me come back and check it out again. alot of the reasons i left to write my own cms were features that blogger back in the day didn't have, which is seems to have now, so i'm testing it out.
maybe since i'm testing it again, i'll post more, maybe i won't. we'll see now, won't we?
anyways... to catch up... well... nothing much is new. i have a job, working as a receptionist for a catering company, which is okay. i'm not really cut out for the whole answering phones thing, but i'm getting used to it. i think the hardest part for me is having to call customers back for feedback to see how their event went, a few days later. i always feel like i'm interupting them. i guess i am.
still installing servers for my old company. they just started using these new machines that are way cool, dual opteron servers, dual onboard giga-nic cards, six fcuking harddrives. needless to say, these bastards are a bit heavy, and all the weight is to the front of the machine where the drives are. installing them in a rack by myself? not fun.
i've helped out a friend get online recently, aaronjae has started his own website for... of all people... himself. he's a bomb-ass (i can say words like bomb-ass and killer because i live in cali.) break-beats & progressive DJ in the midst of the san fransisco party / club scene. i designed his site, and the backend that supports it, as well as helping him design his logo,
which, of course has made it onto t-shirts and a very cool vinyl sticker for his truck, and my car, whenever i can get my car back on the road. fun aaronjae facts: he's had over 2200 unique visitors to his site since we opened it, logged almost 1400 downloads (full album downloads, at that) of which 380 were for his latest album, Devotion Mix
which rocked. he's got a new album supposedly coming out very soon. so, if you like breaks, stay posted on his site.
other than that, nothing's really changed. i have two more beta fish (kawaii & hiro), my car's still not back on the road, i had to sell my digital camera to pay rent, and i'm working two jobs just to stay afloat.
but, i can still dream.
