one thing that is not changing of late, is of course, this website. well, until now. somebody wasn't updating his website. not that anyone noticed. back in the day, when people actually read this thing, if i went more than a week without updating, i'd get emails telling me to stop being a slacker. currently, i haven't "technically" updated since the third of march. there's another update that was written on a plane in a great time of sadness in between, which will be posted as a precursor to this one, but in reality, i haven't updated at all.

but, there's a reason. there's always a reason.

up until just before i got laid off in two thousand two, this website, along with everything else that i had on the web was hosted on another server. someone from work pointed me to a nicely cheap hosting deal, and i moved servers. but, in the middle of the move, i got laid off, and everything went to shit. i got behind on payments for the old server, didn't get everything moved over in time, and the old server got unplugged until i could pay the hosting company what i owed them.

now, almost a year later, i still haven't been able to scrape up the money to pay them what i still owe. the biggest problem, and the reason for not updating this website was this: the cms was on the old server, and i didn't get it off.

you see, blogger & greymatter couldn't do entirely what i wanted them to do. so, i wrote my own damn content managment system that was everything that they were not. and it was great. but, i'm a whore, and since i couldn't use my own cms, i wasn't going to use anything at all. i couldn't bring myself to go through the trouble of editing the site with a text editor. so, my updates became less frequent. and then they existed not at all.

but, things are changing, as they're known to do. i got back into web programming to pay the bills, and i can't stop myself. i can't even count the number of things that i've started in the past few weeks. it got to a point that last night, i went to bed thinking that i really have to write myself a little todo list so that i don't forget half of them. then, this morning, i found myself writing a login interface for a todo list while waiting to take jodi to work. at four am.

i suppose i'll write a todo app. tie it to the kaia9 domain where the cms was & is supposed to go. i'll probably do it this morning, before i start work. that's kinda scary. i just said that i was going to write a threaded todo application before work. hmmm.

and i suppose i'll redesign this site. for the longest time, i was hanging onto the old fcuker logo for a priceless reason. i have coffee cups at home with the fcuker logo on them. but, the cups are old, and faded, and i suppose i should get new ones, with a new logo. or something.

and i should probably pay off the old server and try to get the content off of it. maybe get the cms up and running. and get the hosting server actually accepting hosting. and finish the two outstanding contract jobs that i've got going.

now, i really need that todo list.
