i saw some really cool stuff at work. i got to see thousands of servers made by rackable systems in the google cage in some random datacenter. the amusing part was that their furst servers were nothing more than two motherboards, side by side on a piece of corkboard, with everything stacked on top. but no case. really, i saw it. a whole rack of the damn things. and i got to see one of the yahoo! cages. well, not really a cage. it was half the damn datacenter, with hundreds of racks still unused. i guess they like to think ahead.
eric, jackie and i all sat around drinking and watching stupid movies last night. strawberry margaritas are good, but they fcuk you up. we had to get a blender for the occasion. the strange thing, and something that i'm still getting used to, is that we got the alcohol at the damn supermarket which is probably the reason why i haven't seen many liquor stores out here.
the idiots at the post office rekeyed our mailbox yet again, and we had to go down there and get new keys for the third time. i'm not sure what the case is, but i think that california doesn't have disgruntled post office employees, they probably have disgruntled residents because of the post office's fcuk ups. i imagine that's the case out here, because they seem to fcuk up all the time... well, at least in my case.
jackie finally got a job with american express financial advisors yesterday. the weird thing is that they really like her, and want her to be in the company so much that she got to fill out the final paperwork before her final interview. the strange part about that is that they don't want her to start until march. i just don't understand.
this may all seem like sortof news, but if i had any good news, i'd tell you. just be glad that i'm not compaining about how damn expensive it is out here, or about the fact that i'm broke, or maybe about the fact that the cable television service out here is uber slow.
nothing seems to go the way that i want.
